Location and History
Macomb Township is located in the center of Macomb County and about 34 miles north of the downtown Detroit area. The township itself is 36 square miles and borders Clinton Township, Shelby Township, Chesterfield and Ray Township. View map for location of Macomb Township.

According to the 2000 United State Census the population is 50,478 and it has 17,922 housing units.
Housing
In Macomb Township homes average in price from $29,000 to $430,000 and condos from $53,000 - $223,500. The age of the homes vary from early 1930's to 20089 with various styles. According to stats from the local MLS in 2009, there were 702 homes sold with an average market time of 74 days and 126 condos sold with an average market time of 84. The average sales price for homes was $187,796 and $113,328 for condos. There were also 16 vacant parcels sold ranging from $22,150.
Travel
There are several main roads that allow travel north, south, east and west out of Macomb Township. Just east is I-94 a major expressway running east and west along with I-75 that run north and south. Also M-59 sits along the border allows for access to both freeways. Since many of the subdivisions are newly built we have seen quite a bit of expansion to many of the roads.
Shopping
As for shopping just across M-59 your will find Partridge Creek a beautiful open-air shopping mall that offers 90 stores and restaurants located in Clinton Township. Just west of that you will find Lakeside Mall with almost 150 stores and restaurants including many anchor stores. There are also several strip malls, many large chains and tons of restaurants along the Hall Road corridor. Along with quick access to Rochester Hills.
Education
Macomb Township consists of 4 school districts in the Macomb Intermediate School District - Chippewa Valley, Utica, New Haven and L'Anse Creuse. On the south end of the township located in Clinton Township you will find Macomb Community College where you can receive an associates degree and thru Macomb University a bachelor's and master's degree. Also in neighboring Rochester, Michigan you will find Oakland University which offers 132 baccalaureate degree programs and 117 graduate degree and certificate programs.
Hospitals
Macomb Township is home to the Beaumont medical center located on M 59. Just south in Clinton Township is Henry Ford Macomb Hospital which offers 435 beds, along with a heart center, cancer center, birthing center and more. Also near by is Children's Hospital of Michigan Stilson Specialty Center for all types of pediatric specialties.along with several other large hospitals throughout Macomb, Oakland and Wayne County.
Theater
Macomb Center for the Performing Arts sits on the side side of M -59 in Clinton Township and features various shows like the Letterman, Ann Margaret, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Lou Rawls and the Temptations. On the grounds of Oakland University you will find The Meadow Brook Theatre which also offers high quality entertainment.
