 Location - Macomb Township is located in the center of Macomb County and is located about 34 miles north of the downtown Detroit area. The township itself is 36 square miles.
History - From 1834-1842 Macomb Township was comprised of what are now the townships of Chesterfield and Macomb. For more history click here.
Area Stats - According to the 2000 US census the population is 50,478 and it has 17,922 housing units.
 Housing - One of the fastest growing areas. Homes in this city average in price from $130,000 to $400,00. Although, some homes are currently for sale over $400,000. The age of the homes vary from the early 1900's to 2007 with various styles. However, most of the homes were built from 1980 - 2006. According to stats from the local MLS in 2006, there were 559 homes sold and 100 condos sold with an average sales price of $262,242 for homes and $174,728 for condos. Several brand new subdivisions are currently being built. The average market time for homes is 61days and condos are 69 days.
Travel - There are several main roads that allow travel north, south,east and west. Since many of the subdivisions are newly built there are many roads that are being expanded. Just east of the township is I-94 a major expressway and west is I-75.
Shopping - As for shopping there are 2 very large shopping malls in adjacent cities, Macomb Mall & Lakeside Mall along with several small strip malls and many large chains. Plus many other shopping malls in near by counties.
Education - Macomb Township consists of 4 school districts. Most is covered by Chippewa Valley & New Haven but there are some small sections covered by Utica and L'Anse Creuse. In the near by township of Clinton is Macomb Community College where you can get an associates degree and through Macomb University a bachelor's and master's degree. Hospitals - St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital is located in Clinton Township, although there are many hospitals in and around the area.
Theater - Macomb Center for the Performing Arts features various shows like the Letterman, Ann Margaret, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Lou Rawls and the Temptations.
Government - The township office is located at 54111 Broughton on the corner of Broughton & 25 Mile.
