Map of Clinton Township, MI Community Profile Location - Clinton Township is a northern suburb of Detroit and is located about 29 miles north of the downtown area. The township itself is 6 square miles, but a small part of Fraser and most of Mt. Clemens fall inside the township boundries.
History - Although, the township's history dates back to 1782, Clinton Township's first meeting was held in 1827.
Area Stats - According to the 2000 US Census the population is 95,648 and it has 40,274 housing units.
Housing - Homes average in price from $60,000 to $400,000 according to the 2006 MLS stats but there are a few homes over $400,000. The age of the homes vary from early 1930's to 2006 with various styles. According to stats from the local MLS in 2006, there were 587 homes sold with an average market time of 66 days and 315 condos sold with an average market time of 69. The average sales price for homes was $169,400 and $119,171 for condos. There were also 12 vacant parcels sold ranging from $15,000 - $645,000.
Travel - Several major roads run thru and around the township making it easy to travel north & south and east & west. Just east of the township is I-94 and just west is I-75 two of the major expressways in the area.
Shopping - As for shopping there are 2 very large shopping malls in adjacent cities, Macomb Mall & Lakeside Mall along with several small strip malls and many large chains. There is also more shopping outside the area.
Education - Clinton Township consists of 5 school districts. Chippewa Valley, Mt. Clemens, Fraser, L'Anse Creuse and Clintondale. Also, on the north end of the township is Macomb Community College where you can get an associates degree and thru Macomb University a bachelor's and master's degree. There are also many other colleges outside the area.
Hospitals - St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital is located in Clinton Township, although there are many hospitals in and around the area.
Theater - Macomb Center for the Performing Arts features various shows like the Letterman, Ann Margaret, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Lou Rawls and the Temptations.

Extras - There's also a large county library and the senior center located next to the township offices and offers many activities. Plus near by are several golf courses.
